Around 2 years ago I pulled out my Grandmother's old sewing machine and, armed with a book entitled 'Sewing for Dummies', I tought myself how to sew. I definitely need to take a sewing classor buy sewing for dummies or something. What do you think are the best books on sewing for true beginners? I am a sewer of the novice variety. If you are sewing by hand, maybe use a thimble to assist with getting the needle through thicker materials. (written yesterday, but had no internet connection).
